NC Ladies Bible Study

As we study God’s Word together, we apply its truths to our lives and we are transformed.   The NC Ladies Ministry hosts three bible studies throughout the year; fall, winter, and summer.  With varying meeting options, ladies enjoy a time of fellowship, enrichment, and spiritual growth as they glean from studies and conversation.  Don’t miss what God is doing in and through the ladies of NC Church.

The Daniel Prayer:  The Prayer that Moves Heaven and Changes Nations

by Anne Graham Lotz.

Congratulations for completing The Daniel Prayer study!  This study provided a detailed skill set to apply to our personal study time, as well as important insights and truths into God’s Word regarding prayer.  As Anne showed us through examples in scripture the importance of prevailing in prayer, we have emerged encouraged to seek the Lord.  We’re thankful for each of you who shared in this journey with us and look forward to our next study together.

Though our first Bible study of the year together is complete, we trust you’re continuing with the skills you learned and applying them to additional books of the Bible.  Through the pages of this recent study, Anne Graham Lotz looked at the life of Daniel and unpacked the prayer he prayed in Daniel 9.  Following his pattern, she guided us in developing a more meaningful and powerful prayer life.²  Moving through a variety of passages providing examples of how God met individuals in prayer and the format given by Jesus, we grew in our comprehension of God’s design for communication with us.  Our small groups latched onto this study and it’s method by splitting apart God’s Word and finding what God had to teach us through each verse and historical event we studied.

Winter 2018 Study recap:

This study has ended.  We’ll leave this up if you would like to visit the links.

We kicked-off our Winter Study Session on  Tuesday, January 23rd at 7pm at the church with a Launch Night.  We began our evening with a focused time of worship and praise.  We heard from our own Vanessa Hall, who shared information about the upcoming Sisterhood Conference meeting at NC Church in March.  Afterwards, we broke into small groups for a discussion and an introduction to the study.

All subsequent weeks will consist of meetings in small groups in the surrounding areas, as well as, at the church.   The study will run through Tuesday, February 27th.  For detailed location information, please pick up a Location Card at the Information Desk in the church foyer.  We look forward to seeing you at the next small group meeting.

2017 Recap:

On Sunday, October 1, we launched a 30 day study-at-home devotional challenge.  Click for details!  Through Kerry Clarensau’s book, Fully His: Make the Life God Offers Your Own, we broke open God’s Word daily discovering not only the promises God offers to those who believe in Him, but practical ways we can embrace those gifts. The devotional alternated between exploring His promises and discovering how to accept and embrace what He provides.¹  Each day featured a devotional reading, scripture passages, and personal journaling space to record what God is speaking to you.  We hope you experienced a deeper relationship with Him through time spent reaching into His Word with entries pointing us to further understanding and application.

We took the journey together; sharing inspirations, gained
perspectives, and scriptures that spoke to our hearts.

In addition, the team is praying and planning for the 2018 Bible Study Roster.  You’ll want to stay tuned to find out all that is coming for the ladies of NC in the new year.  Be sure to watch the website, your newsletter, social media, and the announcements for further information!  The ladies of NC are women after God’s heart.  It’s thrilling to link arms with you and grow in our faith by studying His beautiful Word together!

In recent months, we completed our summer study.  Congratulations! You made it!  You are a woman who doesn’t quit!  A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit:  5 Habits from the Book of Ruth, by Nicki Koziarz was a powerful study that dug deep into the reasons we give up.  We hope you were able to unlock your reasons and determine to be a woman who sticks things out even when it gets tough.  We will leave the study page up for a short time longer, for your convenience.

Looking back, we started our year off strong with The Gospel of Mark: The Jesus We’re Aching For by Lisa Harper.  We learned a great deal from Lisa’s teaching and emerged with a take away of greater understanding of the book of Mark and the heart of the study’s author.

2016 Recap:

Our Fall ’16 Devotional: ‘Selah: Finding Rest for Your Soul’ by Kerry Clarensau, a 21-day devotional.

All ladies of NC Church were invited to gather together following this daily devotional for 21 days, in their personal study time. Ladies were encouraged to continue in faithfulness by setting aside time with the Lord daily, guided by the author, to bring us to His rest.

Time in this devotional ended with an event on October 8th, at which the author was our guest speaker for a Ladies’ Conference hosted at NC Church called, ‘The Table’

In the summer, we completed  ‘Armor of God’ by Priscilla Shirer.  The study proved powerful as we gained a stronger grasp of Paul’s teaching about each piece of the armor and how to use them in our daily lives. Your testimonials were encouraging to everyone as you have shared how this study affected your life.

Last winter, we completed our study of ‘Seamless’ by Angie Smith.  The seven-week study took us through the whole of scripture with an encompassing view.

And what an incredible journey it was!  We moved quickly, but concisely.  It was extensive while conveying the love of our Father throughout each page.  The author so beautifully shared her heartfelt perspectives on the historical facts and significance of the ancestors and milestones of our faith, always pointing us to Christ.

Ongoing Study:

As always, ongoing study of God’s Word is imperative to our growth in the Lord.  You may wish to do an in-depth study into a particular book of the Bible or topic to gain a more thorough grasp of its teaching.  We urge you to keep your sword open daily and find resources to enhance your study by giving you further understanding. After you have finished that book or topic, keep going.

As we allow God’s Word to teach us, we ask Him to continue to mold us into the woman of God He longs for us to become. ‘If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.’ James 1:5 NIV.  May we always ask Him for wisdom as we read the Word.  He is faithful to teach us!
